Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary
Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary, located 54 km from Pithoragarh in the Uttarakhand region of India, was created to provide a safe environment for the endangered musk deer. The sanctuary serves as an ideal habitat for them and helps in preserving this species. In addition to the mentioned species, Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, Himalayan Jungle Cat, Civet, Barking Deer, Serow, Goral & Himalayan Brown Bear are some other creatures inhabiting this sanctuary. Several varieties of high-altitude birds can also be found here.
Kafni Glacier Trek
Nestled in the majestic mountains, the Kaphini (Kafni) Glacier envelops the Pindar Valley with an enchanting aura that can't be found anywhere else. Its proximity to the renowned peak of Nandakot further adds to its picturesque beauty and calming ambiance. In contrast to Pindar Valley, the glacier encompasses a much more expansive area, adorned with gorgeous blooming rhododendrons (burans). Views of the majestic Nandakot (6860 m) and Nandabhnar (6236 m) Himalayan summits are distinct from this part of the glacier.
